PluriMed

Volume 2 marks the beginning of PluriMed’s rolling publication model, with articles published individually as they complete editorial and peer-review processes and brought together progressively across the volume.

The volume opens with Lester H. LaCombe II’s Endogenous Dimethyltryptamine Reconsidered: A Constraint-Based Trace Amine Ensemble Model, a hypothesis-and-theory article that reframes endogenous DMT not as a missing classical neurotransmitter, but as a transient component of a wider trace-amine ensemble governed by metabolic constraint, spatial architecture, inflammatory state, and clearance dynamics. In doing so, the article exemplifies one of PluriMed’s central commitments: creating space for carefully argued, experimentally tractable hypotheses that move across established disciplinary boundaries.

As Volume 2 develops, PluriMed will explore medicine and health across multiple worlds of knowledge and practice—bringing biomedical science, pharmacology, medical hypothesis and theory, medical anthropology, ethnomedicine, community health, health policy, and medical pluralism into sustained conversation. Rather than treating these as separate intellectual territories, the journal asks what becomes visible when their concepts, methods, evidentiary traditions, and practical concerns are allowed to encounter one another.

Volume 2 will remain open throughout 2026, with new contributions added as they become ready for publication.
